Do you really think you can hang from a clock handle? The Invention of Hugo Cabret was very interesting because it shows pictures to tell the story. It also gives amazing details in the story. It is about a boy named Hugo Cabret who is an orphan who lives in a train station. He is an orphan because all of his family members died. He mends the clocks like his uncle taught him. He gets himself into huge trouble, but he manages it. He tries to find a broken machine his father kept when the museum burned down. His dad’s clues could lead him to his goal. I love the author, Brian Selznick, because he uses fascinating details to describe the story. This will be an amazing novel if you ever get a chance to read it.

I would recommend this book to someone who likes pictures and text in one book. The Invention of Hugo Cabret really gives me an idea of what life is like with no family. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it has great taste. Read it now!

I think the scene when Hugo, Isabelle, and Isabelle’s Godmother are watching an old film and Papa Georges walks in is memorable. Isabelle’s Godmother says, “How did you hear us?” Papa Georges said, “I can recognize the sound of a film projector anywhere!” That part stood out and grabbed my attention because it is like Papa Georges is walking back into the past when he is trying to forget all that happened in it and trying to move on.

A part of the book that grabbed my attention is when he found the automaton. The big idea is that there is a boy that is an orphan. I would rate it with 4 stars.
